Sakarya Üniversitesinde yapılan bir araştırmada, farklı markalarda 11 bardak poşetinin 4'ünde, 11 demlik poşetinin ise tamamında mikroplastiğe rastlandı
Sakarya Üniversitesi (SAÜ) Mühendislik Fakültesi Çevre Mühendisliği Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Doç Dr. Meral Yurtsever, bazı poşet çaylar üzerine yaptığı araştırmada, farklı markalarda 11 bardak poşetinin 4'ünde, 11 demlik poşetinin ise tamamında mikroplastiğe rastlarken, bir poşetten, yaklaşık 13 bin mikroplastik parçacığının suya geçtiğini tespit etti.
Doğada çözünmesi yüzyıllar sürebilen plastikler bu süreçte boyutları 1 mikrometreyle 5 milimetre arasındaki parçacıklara, yani mikroplastiklere dönüşebiliyor.
Hollanda'da yapılan ve sonuçları bu yılın Mart ayında açıklanan bir araştırmada, ilk kez insan kanında mikroplastiğe rastlanmıştı. Çalışmada, kan örneklerinde, içecek şişeler, gıda ambalajları ve giysi üretiminde yaygın kullanılan PET plastik, gıda ve ev ürünlerinin paketlenmesinde kullanılan polistiren ve plastik poşet yapımında kullanılan polietilen tespit edilmişti.
Doç. Dr. Meral Yurtsever, TÜBİTAK (118Y515) projesi kapsamında poşet çayla demleme yapıldığında çaya poşetten mikroplastik geçip geçmediğini araştırdı.
Çalışmasında bazı poşet çaylarda mikroplastiğe rastlayan Yurtsever, AA muhabirine, "Ortalama olarak bir demlik poşetinden 13 bin mikroplastik parçacığın içeceğimize, yani çaya geçtiğini gördüm. Burada benim incelemede kullandığım teknikle 3 mikrometre boyutuna kadar olan mikroplastik parçalarını tespit edebiliyoruz. Yani çaya 3 mikrometreyle 5 milimetre arasında 13 bin kadar mikroplastiğin geçtiğini söyleyebiliriz." dedi.

Araştırmada selüloz olarak bilinen, farklı markalarda 11 bardak poşetini ve 11 demlik poşetini incelediğini anlatan Yurtsever, demlik poşetlerinin tamamının plastik ilaveli dokudan yapıldığını, bardak poşetlerinin 4'ünün yüzde 100 selülozdan imal edildiğini, 7 tanesinin ise plastik içerdiğini saptadığını söyledi. Yurtsever, "Benim incelediğim 11 demlik poşetinin tamamının plastik katkılı olduğunu ve bu plastiklerin de polyester, polipropilen, polietilen olduğunu gördüm." diye konuştu.
